Once again, Jim Kleefeld presents an all new and all different library program made especially for library audiences. After years of presenting successful programs all over Ohio, he launches an exciting new specialty library program based on literature and book characters created by Dr. Seuss. In A Fox and Socks and Sneetches, Too!, Jim will present eight routines that evolve around Dr. Seuss books and book characters.
In one routine, one Red Fish and one Blue Fish each magically become Two Fish. In another, students will assist in finding the hidden Seuss character. Jim shows a wacky Seussical invention to get rid of messy sticky Oobleck, and transforms Mullberry Street into Horton the Elephant. Children and parents alike will watch in amazement as magical events take place. Dr. Seuss's words will literally fly right out of a book! As always, the routines will be light and fun, with a lot of comedy and a lot of audience participation.
Jim brings Dr. Seuss's words and characters to life in this magical program. Children will hear about stories and characters both familiar and less well-known. Of course everyone knows the Grinch and the Cat in the Hat, but not every child knows about Mulberry Street or the Pale Green Pants. Mostly, they will so truly enjoy being whisked into a magical Seussical world, that they are bound to scour the library eager to devour more Seuss books. A Fox and Socks and Sneetches, Too! was adapted from his successful A Cat and a Hat and Green Eggs and Ham program that Jim presents at schools. That program has large and expansive props that fill up a school auditorium, but take up too much room in a library. This program has plenty of wacky seussical gadgets, but fits just right with library audiences.
Bring A Fox and Socks and Sneetches, Too! to your library!
Great for National Library Day, Children's Book Week, Spring Reading Flings and more!
About the ProgramOne after another, Jim's routines will keep students and teachers fascinated. As always, there is a lot of comedy and a lot of audience participation to help students focus on and remember the objectives and educational content.
Like all of Jim's programs, this is a professionally scripted show, written with proper sequencing for high and low spots to provide children with lots of excitement but prevent them from becoming unruly. Children who are called on to assist are always rewarded and never embarrassed. Teachers and principals always comment on how wonderfully Jim handles children. In addition, Jim adds special humorous touches that just the adults will understand and enjoy.
As always, Jim brings all of his own props and tables, has specially-tailored costuming and carries his own backdrop and "anywhere" sound system. This is an act that can be performed in almost any location, large rooms or small, stage, auditorium, classroom or cafeteria. It can be adjusted to be suitable for groups of from 10 to 250. Schools with larger enrollments should have two programs. Splitting a full-range school into, say, one K-2 program and another for grades 3-5 allows Jim to customize the language, objectives and vocabulary to the different grade levels. When performing for Primary grades, Jim will make the program lighter, faster and more fun. When presenting the same program to Upper Elementary, Jim will use higher vocabulary, and focus more strongly on the objectives and cause and effect.
